Thank you!

I am so thankful to everyone who has put faith in us and our tournament to have made contributions so far! I was quite uncertain for a while of what would be happening this year. While we can not be 100% certain of anything yet, each day that passes makes it look better for be able to hold our tournament.  Of course, if things change EVERY sponsor and team will be contacted for getting refunded.

We understand that 2020 has not started well for many families and local business and your trust and continued support in us makes me feel so full of hope and awe.

We will continue to provide updates as available on the status of tournament, home run derby, when we choose our recipients and lastly if we run out of slots for teams! I’m pleased to announce that we are 1/2 full already! So again thank you for your continued support and participation!

COVID19

Normally at this time we are into baseball and softball seasons with grass and clay stains filling us with the reminders of fun and glories both new and old. Tales get passed around the dinner table (whenever we can find time between games and practices), classrooms, and work places of miraculous catches, impressive hits, and fumbled plays that either made or broke our game (and our hearts).

With COVID19 altering plans all over the country, our little neck of the woods has been fairly lucky. We live in a region that most can go outside without immediately encountering another human, some able to go out with barely a glimpse of neighboring homes. Many of us even have yards in which we can play a game of catch or take a few swings at the ball.

As of right now we are carrying on with the tournament and derby as planned. With this being said, I do have to perform my due diligence and ask that (at least for now) please don’t start planning team practices or team gatherings. I know that I personally am itching to get out and do things, but I would rather react with excess caution now and find we were overzealous in our preparedness actions than to find out that we could have done more and caused our families sickness and our summers to be cancelled.

So to the point of this post….  Please use common sense and good judgement as we start preparing for this year tournament. I certainly would be very upset if we had to cancel because stay at home orders or gathering limits ended up pushed to the end of July.

I hope to see you all very soon! Stay safe!

Modifications for 2020

Good morning everyone! After lots of thought and consideration we are making some modifications to the 2020 tournament. We are still planning on having our tournament, hoping that everything will calm down by then.

We were planning on having a basket raffle, but due to everything going on in the economy, we are holding off on its implantation until next year. We know that our local businesses are extremely supportive and community oriented and we do not want to put any burden on them.

We hope that everyone will continue to support our local businesses as well as coming out to support our tournament when the time comes.

Consider being a family sponsor to the tournament, our letter is available here to sponsor the tournament .

As always, if you have any questions or concerns, reach out via email to MFCsoftball@yahoo.com or to one of the committee members!

Bring on 2020

Well as 2019 comes to a close and 2020 starts, we are so grateful for the success of our past and are ready to make this upcoming year the best yet!

In 2020 we are excited to include a basket raffle. We will be keeping our homerun derby and the 3 day schedule for games! We hope to be able to include some drone footage this year as well as photos (this all depends on the weather of course).

We hope that you will consider joining us again this upcoming year!

We love our players, volunteers, and donors! We are so blessed to have the participation that we do and we are thankful that the fire company is so willing to back us in our endeavor!

Wishing you a happy and healthy new year!

2019 in the books

As everything wraps up for the year I want to share some of the beautiful photos of the home run derby taken by Kayla’s Photography.

Congratulations to the winners of the HR DERBY: men – Matt; women – Savannah; youth male 12+ – Brayden; youth 12+ – Tori; youth male 11u – Parker; youth female 11u – Brynlee.

We are so lucky to have been able to donate the proceeds to 2 families within our community. The David A Lucas family, in true family style, has paid forward the support and love of the community. The portion that would have been theirs was generously given to the youth activities fund at Zion’s church in memory of Olivia Laudenslager as a memorial to LaRae and David A. Lucas.

Congratulations to Sons of Pitches for taking first place in the tournament! Thank you to all who participated. we wouldn’t have been able to go this long without your support.

Thank you to everyone who took time to help me throughout the tournament, the weeks prepping, and the days cleaning up. I really appreciate the generous help, which keeps things running smoothly. Thank you volunteers, for without your efforts we would not have succeeded, even at our first adventure 8 years ago.

Our community is full of wonderful and giving people and this weekend, both at the tournament and fire company picnic, shows that magnificently.

Until next year, please enjoy these pictures.
