Andrew Oxenrider Memorial Tournament

Every year presents new challenges and stresses for me to organize and run a well executed tournament. I always want both players and spectators to have fun, while still keeping everything as fair and safe as possible. And quite honestly I couldn’t do it on my own. I’m going to list people that were integral in this year’s success.

John and Matt for organizing the HR derby

Mike and Nate for maintaining the field

Joanne, Janet, David and Grace for running the concession stand

Walter Boyer Agency (especially Bonnie) Jess and Sydney for the shirts

Rick Kline Memorial Tournament committee for the banner

Amanda for the medical support

Harry, Allen, Tyler, Tony, Rick, Andrew, Noah, Randy, Dan, Casey, Gavin, Davey, Nate for umpiring

and lastly (but certainly not least) our teams for coming to play!!!

First I would like to thank everyone who came out to help support by participating in, volunteering with or just watching this year’s tournament. Even though it gets exhausting until the weekend is over, it really is a good time for everyone.

Secondly, I would like to congratulate the winners from this year. Matt Smeltz and Kylie Smeltz were the men’s and women’s home run derby champions. All profit from the home run derby was donate to the scholarship set up in Andrew’s name. Our champion team was Cleats for Cleavage. Second place went to Sons of Pitches and 3rd went to OXstrong.
